Blackfeet Community College has named Steve Gallineaux its 2022 Student of the Year.
Once a coach for the Glacier Youth Flag Football Association, he is now the director of the organization that is aimed at teaching the basics of football skills to younger players. In addition, he has earned a GED and become an outstanding college student, all while being a parent and earning an income for his family.
“When I was younger in grade school, throughout junior high, I struggled with my schooling,” Gallineaux said. “I fell into the wrong crowds and peer pressure/influences in our community played a great deal in my choices. The school officials always put doubt in my mind, telling me I wasn’t going to be anything.
