Corning’s Recreation Department is hosting its first year of Co-ed Youth Flag Football League for ages kindergarten to eighth grade. Boys and girls are invited to participate in the league and learn the fundamentals of football at an affordable price – no tackling allowed, said Christina Meeds, Planner I. The league will be playing under the NFL Flag Football rules, with teams will be made up of 10 kids per team; ages as follows kindergarten,1st–2nd grade, 3rd–4th grade, 5th–6th grade, 7th–8th grade. The number of teams will depend on registration numbers. Teams will be allowed to practice one day a week with games played on Saturday’s. Games will begin in June and continue into July. Registration will begin March 1 at www.corning.org.
