Vote: Who is the South Suncoast Girls Flag Football Player of the Week (3/18/2024)? - FlagSpin

Vote: Who is the South Suncoast Girls Flag Football Player of the Week (3/18/2024)?

The Florida High School Girls Flag Football season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have seven athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Suncoast high school girls flag football player of the week award from March 11-March 16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Ava Horne of Lakewood Ranch.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Victoria Fernandez, Lakewood Ranch: The Mustangs’ quarterback completed 23-of-29 passes for 265 yards for accounted for two touchdowns in a 20-18 loss to Tampa Catholic.

Amy Zeitler, Lakewood Ranch: Zeitler had a solid week for the Mustangs, totaled 53 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to Tampa Catholic.

Ameria Smith, Braden River: Smith caught four passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-12 win over Palmetto last week.

Cydnee Brooks, Braden River: Brooks completed 24-of-35 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-12 win over Palmetto.

Ali Lowery, Southeast: Though the Seminoles didn’t notch a win last week, Lowery was a bright spot in each of the contests.

Amelia Someson, Parrish Community: Someson completed 15-of-20 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown in a 19-0 win over Lakewood Ranch.

Madison Malanowicz, Parrish Community: The senior dynamo did a little bit of everything last week for the Bulls, totaling 85 yards and a touchdown on offense and intercepting a pass on defense.
