The van that was stolen from a local Bay Area youth flag football league has recently been found by the Vallejo Police Department and returned to the league.
While there are extensive damages to the van, the league plans on using donations from the community to get the van fixed.
Since the story was first reported on KRON 4 and the Vallejo Times-Herald, the community has donated nearly $5,000 to the league. Also, the Vallejo Police Activities League teamed up the a local service group, The Native Sons of the Golden West, to donate a much-needed second van to The Coach Sarna League.
The news of the van brought the Vallejo community together and registration for kids to participate in the league has now reached nearly 400 athletes, the league reported.
League representative Ken Sarna was on hand at a special meeting with The Native Son’s of the Golden West at the local Vallejo Police Activities office to receive the donation of the van.
