OCPR Update: As summer heats up, cool down at Osage City Aquatic Center – Osage County Online

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Aquatic Center is available for a quick cool down during the forecast 100-degree summer heat this week, but Osage City Parks and Recreation has put fall sports on the schedule, with deadlines set for youth football and youth soccer. Here’s the upcoming schedule:


 

Osage City Aquatic Center

  • OCAC Pool Hours: Monday-Friday, 1-6pm; Saturday and Sunday, 1-6pm; May 28-Aug. 13, 2023.
  • Daily Admission: $3 (age 4 and above); age 3 and below FREE; age 65 and over FREE.

OCAC Swim Pass Booklets

  • Swim Booklets can be purchased at Osage City Hall (starting May 1)
  • Swim Booklets will be on sale at OCAC (starting May 27)
  • 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50

Deck and Pool Rental Reservation can be made with Corey Linton (before May 27).

Water Aerobics

Instructor Marcy Zerr
Tuesday and Thursday, 6-7pm
Week of June 5 through the week of July 31
$3 per class or one swim card


Youth Football Camp

1st-6th Grade – Grade is based on the 2023-2024 school year

August 1-3 – 6:30-7:30pm, 1st and 2nd Grade; 6:30-8pm (3rd-6th Tackle Players)

  • $15 per player
  • Campers receive a T-shirt

OCPR 3rd/4th Grade Tackle Football

Players must be USD 420 3rd/4th grade students based on the ‘23-‘24 school year.

  • Team will play in an area league with Burlingame/MV, Ottawa, Garnett and Prairie View.
  • League games rotate between the league towns on Saturdays, plus possible Wednesday night games, either home or away.
  • League Season – Sept. 9 – Oct. 21
  • Weekly practices dates and time determined by Head Coach Jordan Tice.
  • OCPR provides helmet, chin strap, shoulder pads, pants (integrated, all 7 pads sewn in), team jersey and mouth piece (players can choose to use their own mouthpiece).
  • Each player provides their own football cleats, any additional padding or accessories.

Player Fee – $50 per player – Check Payable to “OCPR”; payment can be split into two, Payment #1 ($25) due by Aug. 7, Payment #2 ($25) due by Sept. 1. Sign-up forms and payment can be delivered to Osage City Hall or to the OCPR Office (Corey).

OCPR 5th/6th Grade Tackle Football

  • Players must be USD 420 5th/6th grade students based on the ‘23-‘24 school year.
  • Team plays in the Emporia Recreation Commission’s 5th/6th grade Football League.
  • Weekly practice dates and time determined by Head Coach Mitch Foote.
  • ERC League games played at the football fields north of Emporia High School.
  • ERC SEASON – Sept. 9-Oct. 21
  • OCPR provides – helmet, chin strap, shoulder pads, pants (integrated, all 7 pads sewn in), mouthpiece (if needed) and team jersey.
  • Each player provides their own football cleats any additional padding or accessories. 5th/6th grade players MUST PROVIDE A COMPLETED MEDICAL FORM, SIGNED BY A PHYSICIAN (no exceptions) – Deadline Aug. 21 – Medical form is available at the player’s physical location.

Player Fee – $95 – Check Payable to “OCPR”; payment can be split into two, Payment #1 ($47.50) due by Aug. 7, Payment #2 ($47.50) due by Sept. 1. Sign-up forms and payment can be delivered to Osage City Hall or the OCPR Office (Corey).

  • OCPR players receive a team jersey, shorts, and socks.
  • Players supply their own shin guard and cleated shoes.
  • Team Practice can start the week of August 28, if a coach is assigned.

Sign-up deadline August 18.

Youth Flag Football

  • A player younger than 5 years of age on/before September 1, 2023, is too young for the Pre-K/K Division.
  • Teams can start practice the week of August 28, if a coach is assigned.
  • League games are Sundays, in Burlingame.
  • Cost – $30 per player.
  • Players receive a team shirt and equipment (flag set, footballs, mouthpieces, supplied by OCPR).

Sign-up deadline August 18.
