Inaugural high school girls flag football state championship in Birmingham

THE HEWITT TRUSSVILLE HUSKIES EXCITED TO PLAINY THEIR FIRST HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS BECAME A SANCTIEDON SPORT BACK IN SEPTEMBER. HIGH SCHOOL TEENS FROM ACROSS THE STATE HAVE BEEN BATTLING IT OUT FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY HERE AT PROTECTIVE STADIUM TODAY. THE TWO TEAMS TO MAKE IT HERE TODAY, HEWIT-TRUSSLLVIE AND THEY WILL TAKEN O THE SMITHS STATION PANTHERS. WE WERE ABLE TO CATCH UP WITH HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE HUSKIES AS THEY PREPARED FOR TODAY’S BIG GAME. THESE GIRLS AND THEIR COACHES DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT ON . A LOT OF THEM DID NOT ENVE KNOW A LOT ABOUT FOOTBALL BUT THEY HAVE BNEE STRONG ALL SEASON LONG. HE WOULD TRUSSVILLE COMES IN UNDEFEATED. — HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE CESOM IN UNDEFEATED. >> WE HAVE WE HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF SHOWING UP AND PERFORMING WELL. THE GIRLS HAVE PREPARED. WE WOULD HAVE JUST BEEN MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES. SOMETIMES OUR PRACTICE TIME IS LIMITED BUT WE MAKE THE MOST WITH WHAWET HAVE. THEY WORK HARD AND WE’RE GOING TO RELY A LOT ON OUR ATHLETICISM AND HOPEFULLY GET THE JOB DONE AND HAVE A LOT OF FUN IN THE PROCESS. SARAH: THESE GIRLS WILBEL MAKING HISTORY TODAY IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. NOT ONLY IS THIS THE FIRST-EVER HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, BUT THE GIRLS PLAYING TODAY ARE GOING TO THE FIELD OUT HERE AT PROTECTEIV STADIUM. IT WILL BE THE FIRST TIME WE SEE GIRLS PLAYING FOOTBALL AT THE NEW PROTECTIVE STADIUM.

Hewitt-Trussville High School will take on Smiths Station High School in the first-ever AHSAA Girls Flag Football Championship Game at Protective Stadium in Birmingham.
