NORTHPORT, NY — Matthew Marlow, a sophomore at Northport High School, was named the school’s first-ever “Most Outstanding Wrestler” by Section XI for the Division I tournament on Feb. 13, according to the school district. Marlow won the 118-pound champion title in the tournament.
Being selected as “Most Outstanding Wrestler” is a top-tier accomplishment that speaks tohis overall performance throughout the season and sportsmanship on his team, according to the school district.
Each varsity wrestling coach in Suffolk County voted on which student they believed had the most impressive tournament out of the 13 weight class champions in the county. The coaches collectively voted for Marlow.
