GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (Press Release) – The YMCA is bringing flag football, volleyball, soccer and t-ball/coach pitch to the Grand Island community this fall.
Youth flag football will be a partnership between the Grand Island YMCA and Grand Island Public Schools. Teams will be drafted based on grades K-2, 3-4 and 5-6. The fall season will be held on Saturdays, Sept. 10 to Oct. 15. The spring season will be held on Saturdays, April 15 to May 13. Fees are $35 for members and $70 for program members. A $10 late fee will be in effect after Aug. 29 for the fall season and March 20 for the spring season.
Learner League Volleyball is for grades 1-3. Kids will learn serving, bumping and setting. Games will be Thursdays, Sept. 9 through Oct. 14. Fees for this league is $35 for members and $60 for program members.
Volleyball League is for grades 3-7 and works on improving serving, bumping and setting. Games are held Saturdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 16. Fees for this league are $35 for members and $60 for program members as well.
Soccer season at the Y includes the fall and spring sessions. Age groups include ages 3–13. Fall games will be played Mondays, Sept. 13 through Oct. 18. Spring season will be Tuesdays, April 5 through May 10. Games are played Tuesday nights at the Webb Road Soccer Complex. Fees for the league are $50 for members and $100 for program members.
T-Ball/Coach Pitch will play at Pier Park on Sundays, Sept. 12 through Oct. 17. T-Ball is for kids aged 3-5. Coach Pitch is for ages 6-8. The fee is $35 for members and $60 for program members.
The registration deadline for all sports is Monday, August 29. A $10 late fee will be in effect after August 29.
