PARKLAND, FL- Friday nights at Pine Trails Park in Parkland can be hit or miss in terms of activity. As the Coronavirus pandemic has taken hold, the past year at the park has been more miss than hit.
This past Friday night was a different story. The “Under the Lights” Under Armor flag football league has been a hit in Parkland, and Pine Trails Park was abuzz with activity on Friday evening. Dozens of teams filled the park with activity at a level that hasn’t been common in the past twelve months.
The “Under the Lights” league, according to its organizers, “is a national youth flag football league for kids in 1st-8th grade, with the emphasis on promoting a competitive, confidence building, non-contact experience for both boys and girls of all skill levels.”
The regular season schedule runs through the end of February, with state playoffs beginning at the conclusion of the season.
The Parkland “Under the Lights” league is one of 34 Under Armor leagues being held this season in the state of Florida.
