A fatal single car accident is under investigation by Marlboro Township Police after the driver crashed into a tree off Route 18 near Routes 520 and 79 on Friday morning.
It was around 6:30 am when Marlboro Police said they began receiving 911 calls about the motor vehicle crash involving the 2008 grey Honda Accord.
Upon police arrival, officers said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity is currently behind withheld until his family can be notified.
The crash investigation is still in the very early stages as police look for the root cause and why and how it happened.

Route 18 south was closed Friday morning at the Route 520/Tennent Road ramps until about 10:00 am.
In addition to Marlboro Police Officers, New Jersey State Police, Quality Medical Transport, Marlboro Fire Department, Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company, Atlantic Health Paramedics, Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Department of Transportation also responded to the accident scene on Friday.
