Destin High, now in its third year, is still experiencing “firsts.”
Friday night, Destin High crowned its first-ever homecoming king and queen.
Atianna Vallianatos was crowned queen and Brandon Harnish as king.
“This is so awesome … I’m speechless,” said Vallianatos.
“The first queen of Destin High School. I almost started crying,” she said.
Vallianatos started at Destin High as a sophomore and will treasure the crown and sash, she said.

“This (the sash) is going on my wall and I’m keeping this in a glass case,” she said of the crown.
As for Harnish, who was sporting his football gear, he said: “It feels amazing.”
He will treasure the memories as well.
“I’ll put it up in my room somewhere,” he said of the crown and sash.
Vallianatos is the daughter of Agnes Tibaldo and Andrew Vallianatos and was escorted by her stepdad, Rory Tibaldo.
Vallianatos is a member of the girls flag football team and serves as the senior class treasurer. After high school she plans to go to college to get a degree in business.
