The Delisle Chiefs Junior B franchise is back in the news with some transactions. On Monday and Tuesday they announced the signings of ‘03 forward Caleb Genest and ‘03 forward Caley Lehouillier, whole ‘03 born Nathaniel Bentham capped off the week of signings of Friday.
Genest joins the Chiefs after two years with the U18 AA Notre Dame Hounds, and he actually appeared in 2 games with the AAA squad in the 19-20 season as well. The Saskatoon native stands at 5’10, and weighs in at 175 lbs. Genest put up 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 42 games played with the Hounds.
Lehouillier on the other hand is a big body at 6’2, 205 lbs. He is coming off last season’s shortened year where he was a member of the Battlefords Stars AAA program, and Lehouillier played AA with the Battlefords Barons before opening up some eyes. Lehouillier had 41 points in 86 career games (including playoffs) with the Barons.
The Chiefs final signing of the week was forward Nathaniel Bentham out of Saskatoon. Bentham captained the Saskatoon Sabercats during the shortened ‘20-‘21 season, and picked up 18 points and 39 PIMS in 32 games played total for the team. The Chiefs are excited to welcome in the 5’9, 175 lbs forward to the fold after his two seasons of U18 AA.
This trio of forwards represents the Chief’s first signing flurry of the off-season, and the team expects to be back with more good news soon.
