Registration is now open for the city of Conroe’s before and after school programs. After-school sites include: Anderson, Armstrong, Austin, Bozman, Creighton, Cryar, Milam, Patterson, Reaves, Runyan, Sam Houston and Wilkinson. Children attending Giesinger, Rice and Travis are transported to the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center. Children attending Hope are transported to Milam via CISD transportation. The before-school program will be provided to the following schools: Anderson, Armstrong, BB Rice, Bozman, Cryar, Geisinger, Patterson, Reaves, Runyan, Sam Houston, Travis and Wilkinson. Private learn to swim Saturday classes

The Conroe Aquatic Center offers individualized instruction on Saturday mornings designed to help participants overcome fears or improve existing skills. The cost is $12 for City of Conroe residents and $15 for non-residents per half-hour class. Registration opens on Aug. 2 with lessons running through Dec. 11. Conroe United Youth Soccer League

Registration: Through Aug. 6, late registration through Aug. 14

Register for Conroe United’s Fall Soccer Season for boys and girls ages 4-13. Cost is $30 for Conroe residents and $37 for non-residents. Extended registration deadline is Aug. 14. The emphasis of the league will be on skill development, fun and fair play. All games will be played on Saturdays at Carl Barton, Jr. Park. Teams will practice once per week for younger players, and have the option of a second weekly practice for older players. The season will have 8 games. Jerseys will be provided, players must provide their own shorts, socks, and shin guards. All coaches must pass a background check and attend a coaches training and coaches roster and equipment meeting. All players must attend a mandatory skill evaluation to assist staff to create equitable teams on August 14. Contact the C.K. Conroe Youth Flag Football

Register for Conroe Youth Flag Football’s fall season for boys and girls ages 6-13. Your child will have a blast playing flag football developing speed, skill and agility. Conroe Aquatic Center water park hours

The City of Conroe Aquatic Center Water Park will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The admission fee is $8 per person for anyone entering the facility. Ages two and under are free to enter. Individual and household memberships are available. Speed and Agility Camp

Prepare yourself for the upcoming fall sports seasons with the Speed and Agility Camp. The camp is for athletes ages 8-11 years old. This is a three-week camp that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Aug. 17 from 6-7 p.m. for ages 8-9 and 7-8 p.m. for ages 10-11. at Carl Barton Jr, Park. Speed and agility are key attributes for any sport you play in. Cost is $20 for Conroe Residents and $25 for non-residents Contact the C.K. Home school swimming program

The Conroe Aquatic Center offers a monthly program that provides swimming workouts for children up to age 16. Those interested in taking part in this program must pass a swim test. Senior dances

Join the fun at the Senior Dances. Couples and singles are welcome to dances featuring bands from Country & Western to Golden Oldies. Line dances and mixers get everyone involved. Dances are held every other Saturday evening at the City of Conroe Activity Center, 1204 Candy Cane Lane. Cost is $5 per person at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dance starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m. Upcoming bands are Voodoo Rodeo on Aug. 21 and Texas Ramblers on Aug. 27. Contact the C.K.
