New Life Bible Camp, located at 451 Tar Water Hollow Rd., Buffalo Mills, will host a Turkey Bowl flag football tournament fundraiser Nov. 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Seven-player teams will compete in one division, ninth grade through adult. Cost to register is $10 per person. The winners will receive medals, gift cards, and bragging rights. Teams can register at www.newlifebiblecamp.com or on the camp’s Facebook page. Participants who don’t have a full team can register individually and will be assigned to a team. All registrants will receive goody bags. The camp also will host other events on the day of the tournament. There will be door prizes and a Punt, Pass and Kick contest with three divisions, including elementary, middle school and open. The winner of each division will receive a prize. There will be free lunch and a bounce house for children. The camp’s other facilities also will be open. New Life was founded in 1972. Currently, the camp operates a summer program that includes residential, day, and adventure camps. Throughout the rest of the year, the camp provides weekend retreats for teens, college students, families, and churches. Proceeds from the Turkey Bowl will benefit children and families attending the camp throughout the year.

United Methodist churches of the greater Broad Top and New Hope parishes will present “Breakfast in Bethlehem” at 9 a.m. Dec. 2 at the Wood church, 341 N. St. Participants will take a step through the pages of the Bible to the time of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. A hot breakfast will be served. There will be songs and activities focused on the birth of Jesus Christ. After the breakfast, Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and the wise men will share the Christmas story. The cost to attend the event will be a nonperishable item for the local food pantries. All children age 12 and younger should be accompanied by an adult.
