The Midrash famously comments, “kol hatchalot kashot,” all beginnings are hard. While it is definitely true that the beginning of a new venture or initiative can bring about some major challenges, it is also true that the beginning is a time of tremendous excitement, energy and buzz.
There had been so much hype building up towards the inaugural season of The Bergen County Flag Football League (BCFL). One of our concerns going into the season was that it would be hard to match the hype with the authentic joy, excitement and fun that we were hoping the players and families would feel. After some time reflecting upon the inaugural season of BCFL, we are proud to report that we did it. After a full and exhilarating season of flag football, consisting of intense play, great coaches, reversible NFL FLAG jerseys, state-of-the-art turf fields, carded referees, some awesome swag and so much more, the players and parents alike are still on a high from the fall season as they eagerly await the spring season ahead.
Similar to the fall season, we have continued our partnership with NFL FLAG Football, the official flag football league of the NFL and the largest youth flag football organization in the country. The league will continue to be divided into five divisions, organized by grade: K-1; 2-3; 4-5, 6-7 and 8. Girls and boys are both welcome, but the older divisions will be separated.
