
The City of Alliance’s celebration of Juneteenth will take place Saturday, beginning with a parade and continuing with activities all day at Maple Beach Park.
The parade will step off at 9 a.m. Saturday at South Street and South Liberty Avenue. The parade will head north on Liberty to the Martin Luther King Jr. Viaduct before bearing to the right onto East Patterson Street. The route then goes left onto Oak Avenue, right onto Reed Street, and ending at Maple Beach Park.
The parade will include a variety of service organizations, area school groups and community leaders, including fire departments.

The festival will continue at Maple Beach Park, where parade participants, those watching the parade and others can enjoy free food and activities such as jump houses, a flag football tournament and a cookout that begins at noon. The football tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Also on hand will be black-owned business vendors.
