🌱 Huntington Daily: ‘The Next Chapter’ News + Firemen’s Fair

Hi all. It’s me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Huntington Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening locally. Here goes.

First, today’s weather:

Mostly sunny and hot. High: 93 low: 74.

Here are the top 4 stories in Huntington today:

  1. The Next Chapter has found its permanent home. The Book Revue successor will be located at 204 New York Ave., right next to Stella Blue Bistro. The Next Chapter’s Mallory Braun said there is no timetable on an opening date, as the building needs some work. There will still be pop-up sales in the meantime, which we will keep you updated on here at Patch. (Huntington Now)
  2. Check out photos from the second day of the Firemen’s Fair at Stimson Middle School. The fair started with parade started on Oakwood Road and marched all the way to Stimson Middle School. (http://www.huntingtonNow.com)
  3. Former Town of Huntington part-time security guard pleads guilty to stealing tools. Robert Churca, 29, admitted to stealing tools and reselling them in court Tuesday. The tools were valued at $3,700 and he is due back for sentencing on Sept. 28. (Huntington Patch)
  4. The Huntington Militia held a Declaration of Independence reenactment on Sunday. They fired a musket, cannon, and rifle with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and you can see photos from the reenactment in the link. (Huntington Patch)
