Apache Junction Parks and Recreation is offering youth flag football leagues this fall for boys and girls ages 6-11.
There are two leagues available — 6 to 8 years old and 8 to 11 years old. Both play on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturdays at Prospector Park, 3015 N. Idaho Road in Apache Junction.
Thanks to a donation by JGSolutions inc. and the Breakfast Ball 2 Golf Tournament, league fees are only $25 for the 6- to 8-year-old league and $30 for the 8- to 11-year-old league if registered by Oct. 28, according to a release.
“We are also needing volunteer coaches for both age groups. Official volunteer coaches can get a free child registration refund. Visit apachejunctionaz.gov/sports for volunteer coach forms,” the release states.
Both leagues kick off with a clinic the morning of Saturday, Oct. 29, at Prospector Park. The clinic for those registered in the 6-8 league starts at 10 a.m. and those in the 8-11 league starts at 11 a.m.
Online registration is available at apachejunctionaz.gov/onlinereg and search “football” or stop by the Apache Junction Multi-generational Center, 1035 N. Idaho Road in Apache Junction, to sign-up in-person.
