Rhinelander – The YMCA is back for another year of youth flag football. This is their largest season yet with a roster of nearly 75 players so far. Those players range from 5 years old all the way through sixth grade.
No matter the age, the program focuses on developing and improving the skills of players like CJ Sparks.
“It’s just fun to do this and I like being able to come out here on the weekends and just have fun,” said Sparks.
Another player, Issac Budreau, is also glad for the opportunity to play.
He’s working hard toward his ultimate goal of playing as a quarterback or receiver for the Packers with plays like this one.
“One time when it was like the last play of the game or something and we were at like the 30 or 20, I don’t remember, and I went D and I caught it like right above my head like right enough that I could dive into the end zone at the last minute,” said Budreau.
There are still a few spots for players who want to join the team.
