A scary early Saturday morning car fire on Route 70 in Whiting results in only minor injuries for the driver of a single vehicle crash.
Whiting Fire Company Station 33 said that they were called to the fire around 2:38 am near mile-marker 35 and saw a single vehicle on fire near some surrounding brush.
When they arrived, the occupant of the vehicle was already out.
The fire crews worked to put out the fire which they said required the use of foam “to quickly knock down the fire which had magnesium/fluid involvement.”
WFCS 33 said they also received backup on scene via an engine from the Joint Base.
Manchester Police Captain Vincent Manco tells Townsquare Media News that the single occupant of the vehicle was identified as 50-year old Shailendr Sharma of Mount Laurel who had complaint of minor pain.
Manco said that Sharma showed no signs of impairment.
