UPDATE. There were no injuries in the incident involving a tractor trailer truck that caught fire on Saturday afternoon on I-24 East at the I-840 interchange in Murfreesboro. John Grider with the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed, “There was no crash or injuries.” The cause of the fire is under investigation.
10PM: The semi truck and trailer that caught fire is still sitting on the edge of the interstate. It is marked off by cones.
The fire happened on I-24 East at 1:14 Saturday afternoon. It occurred at the I-24 / I-840 interchange. Again, no injuries were reported.
The following day the tractor trailer truck was reduced to charred debris. See picture below.
