West Liberty Youth Flag Football capped off its season in a tournament at Lions Park Saturday.
In the first game, Team Red squeaked by Team Orange 3-2 in overtime.
For Team Red, Hayse Robison found Liam Saltis in the end zone at the end of the first half to open up the scoring.
After the half, Kase McIntosh came up with a big interception to stall an Orange drive.
Hayden Gundolf scored on a long run.
McIntosh connected with Gundolf in OT for the game winning touchdown.
Joshua Waller and Connor Watson made several plays on defense in the winning effort.
For Team Orange, Raylan Wulf connected with Michael Ehrle to tie the score 1-1 after the half.
Wulf found Ehrle again for another score to knot it up again and send it into overtime.
Ehrle added an interception on defense.
Daulton McClintick, Alexander Roberts, and William Roberts made a lot of plays on defense to keep their team in the contest.
Round two opened up with Team Gray winning another overtime battle over Team Black 5-4.
For Team Gray, Michael Beard led the offense with touchdown passes to Draedyn Kinnison, Foster Fairchild, Alex Bradford, and Ryder Terry.
Alex Bradford had a rushing touchdown.
For Team Black, Roe Griffith connected with Tracen Green to start the game.
Harrison Sutherin passed to Isaac Falloon for a score.
Sutherin found paydirt again on a long run.
Braxton Louden connected with Falloon to send it into OT.
Joshua Hayse and Wyatt Brooks made several key plays on both sides of the ball.
In the other semifinal battle, Team White edged Team Red 4-3.
For Team White, Caleb Palmer passed for touchdowns to Liam Harrington and Brodie Milliron.
Bentley Deam rushed for a score.
Raider Tester caught a long reception to get his number called again for a rushing touchdown.
For Team Red, Connor Watson pounded in a rushing touchdown from a few yards out.
Hayse Robison threw a dart to Kase McIntosh for a score.
McIntosh had a rushing touchdown and added an interception on defense.
In the championship game, Team Gray battled their way to an overtime victory over Team White 6-5.
For Team Gray, Michael Beard opened up the scoring with a touchdown pass to Ryder Terry.
Alex Bradford found Foster Fairchild open for a touchdown.
Fairchild reversed the roll to find Bradford for another touchdown pass.
Beard added two rushing scores in regulation.
For Team White, it was all on the ground.
Brodie Milliron rushed for two scores.
Raider Tester ran for a touchdown after setting himself up on a long catch.
Caleb Palmer ran one in and Bentley Deam rounded out the scoring for Team White in regulation.
In overtime, Beard connected with Bradford in the end zone.
Terry ended the game with an interception in the end zone.
All teams showed incredible sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The future looks very bright for WL-S football.
