Poinciana Youth Flag Football League (PYFFL) will be starting its inaugural Flag Football Season on Monday, March 7, and there’s still time to register your child football heroes! Games are played at Vance Harmon Park (625 Country Club Road).
PYFFL is for boys and gir ls ages 4-14. The season runs for 12 weeks through May 28. Fee to participate is $125. Custom 2-piece jersey sets will be provided. If you receive SNAP, WIC or Medicaid, your child may be eligible to play for free.
Kids will play within their age group and practice will be two days a week with a game a week. PYFFL is still looking for a few dedicated coaches for both football and cheer. Bezos Academy is a non-profit organization that is building a network of tuition-free preschools. Two preschools are slated to open in Osceola County, with one in Poinciana at the Deerwood Elementary campus (3701 Marigold Avenue.) This location will feature eight classrooms.
Bezos’ preschools offer year-round, full-day programming, five days a week, for children ages 3-5 years old from lowincome families. Bezos Academy also provides students with all necessary educational supplies and services to set each student up for success, including Montessori materials, books, arts and crafts, field trips, and meals.
The school will follow a full-day, year-round schedule and is expected to open in fall 2022. Families earning up to 400 percent of the federal poverty limit with children aged 3-4 are eligible to apply.

Central Florida Health Care Inc. will be conducting walk-up and drive-thru COVID-19 screening and testing on two Tuesday in March (the 15th and 29th) from 8:30- 11:30 a.m. in the Poinciana Medical Center’s Visitor parking lot (325 Cypress Pkwy.). This screening and testing will not be conducted by Poinciana Medical Center.
