More than 100 athletes on 10 teams will compete in Special Olympics Kentucky’s Western Kentucky Flag Football Regional Tournament Oct. 22, which will be held at McCracken County High School.
Three teams from McCracken County will be competing in the tournament. Other competing teams are from Bowling Green, Henderson County, Marshall County, Murray, Owensboro, and Russellville. Games will begin at 9 a.m. and run consistently through 1 p.m.
The tournament is a qualifier for the State Flag Football Tournament, Special Olympics Kentucky said in a news release. Teams will compete for regional titles in four divisions.
Sunday’s event is the second regional tournament weekend that Special Olympics Kentucky said it has held this flag football season. The first — the Louisville Regional Flag Football Tournament — was held Oct. 1.
The same day as the Western Kentucky Flag Football Regional Tournament, the Northern Kentucky Regional Flag Football Tournament will be held at Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
The State Flag Football Tournament will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Tates Creek High School in Lexington.
