Hebron Christian’s girls flag football team posted victories Thursday over Mays and South Atlanta, improving to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in Area 7-AAAA-A.
The Lions defeated Mays 32-12 behind the offense of Mia Glisson (four rushes, 100 yards, touchdown) and Hoake Mazzawi (three rushes, 52 yards, TD). Mazzawi also had an interception for a TD on defense. Bella Rodriguez led the team with five pulls and Alison Champa had two interceptions.
Hebron then blanked South Atlanta 25-0 with Rodriguez (three rushes, 60 yards, TD), Alyssa Burgess (four rushes, 40 yards) and Mazzawi (three rushes, 50 yards, TD) leading the offense. Ava Isaacs (five pulls), Lynnsey Luttrell (six pulls), Arabella Dowden (five pulls, sack) and Chloe Lewis (interception for TD) were the top performers on defense in that victory.
