The Fairview High School flag football team stayed unbeaten over the weekend after the second slate of games during the inaugural Girls Flag Football League.
The Yellow Jackets racked up a 32-14 win over Brentwood and then stopped host Centennial 26-20 to improve to 4-0
Both LilyAnne McElroy and Alyssa Berg caught two touchdown passes in the first outing, while Summer Anderson rushed for three touchdowns in the victory over Centennial.
Addison Gordon paced Centennial with three touchdown passes, including two in the final eight minutes to narrow the Fairview lead.
Brooke Bledsoe hauled in a two-point conversion for the Cougars with 27 seconds remaining to collect a 28-27 win – the Cougars first.
Franklin stayed unbeaten as well and joined Fairview atop the league standings after a 13-0 win over Independence and a 6-0 victory against Ravenwood – the Raptors first loss.
Franklin quarterback Hannah Harvey connected with Abby Pillow twice against the Eagles to lead the way, while both Emma Nihill and Eliza Paisley came away with interceptions.
The lone touchdown scored in the Admirals second win came when Harvey hooked up with Emma Maumus with a long ball late in the first half.
Ravenwood’s Ally Brown was a hawk on defense with five interceptions for the day, but also suffered two costly picks in the final minutes against Franklin as the Admirals defense held on for the shutout.
