Osceola County Fire Rescue Station 64 (3385 Pleasant Hill Rd.) will hold an Open House on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
The day will feature fire safety presentations – smoke alarms, extinguishers and fire escape planning. There will also be health/safety instruction, as well as a child safety car seat checkpoint to insure your child’s car seat is correctly installed. There will also be children’s activities including a Junior Fire Fighter Challenge, a bounce house and more. They’ll be free food while supplies last.

Poinciana Youth Flag Football League (PYFFL), for youth ages 4 to 15, holds a free football training every Monday and Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at Vance Harmon Park (50 Country Club Dr.). The training covers fundamentals, conditioning and skill development. Register at www.pyffl.com. PYFFL is also currently looking for cheer coaches to help expand this summer’s cheer program.
There’s two more chances to be a hero this month and give blood. OneBlood’s Big Red Bus will be at Poinciana Walmart (904 Cypress Pkwy.) on Monday (May 23) from 12-5 p.m. and the Poinciana Library (101 N. Doverplum Ave.) on Wednesday (May 25) from 1-6 p.m. Face coverings must be worn to donate. Temperatures will be taken upon arrival (if you don’t feel well, stay home and donate another time). OneBlood will provide donors with a wellness checkup, which includes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening. Appointments are encouraged – go to OneBlood.org/donate.
