Free Thanksgiving dinners will be served Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, by the Bedford Service Unit of the Salvation Army. The dinners will be served from Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 W. Penn St., Public Square, Bedford. The warm and ready-to-eat carry-out meals will be available for pickup from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and will include turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, gravy, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie and drinks. Christmas celebrations will kick off at Time Ministries Church at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 with a talent show, dessert carnival and ugly sweater party. The evening will feature special talents from the church. Following the talent show, there will be a wide spread of dessert. On Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m., there will be a special Christmas service. TMC’s Alive Drama Team will present a Christmas play, “Christmas Catastrophe,” which is about the children’s choir being invited to sing at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The children learn a lesson in grace that they will never forget. A Christmas Eve candlelight service will begin at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. This year’s theme is “What Child is This?” The service will feature the Alive Drama Team as characters surrounding the Christmas story and singing the carols of the season. New Life Bible Camp, 451 Tar Water Hollow Road, Buffalo Mills, will host a Turkey Bowl flag football tournament fundraiser Nov. 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Seven-player teams for ninth graders through adults will compete. Cost to register is $8 per person. Each person on the winning team will receive a $10 gift card and a medal. Teams can register at www.newlifebiblecamp.com or on the camp’s Facebook page. Participants who don’t have a full team can register individually and will be assigned to a team. All registrants will receive goody bags. The camp also will host other events on the day of the tournament. There will be door prizes and a Punt, Pass and Kick contest with three divisions, including elementary, middle school and open. Prizes will be awarded. Non-players can purchase $8 Gobbler passes to compete in the Punt, Pass and Kick contest, a hay ride or pony ride and lunch. The maximum family cost will be $25. Children ages 5 and under can participate for free. The camp’s gameroom, Box Cave, tetherball court and gym will be open.
