The Big 33 Football Classic is celebrating 67 years this weekend by partnering with the NFL to host the event’s first girls flag football tournament.
20 high school girls were broken into four different teams to represent four national football teams: Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders.
The games kicked off Saturday evening on two of the fields located behind Eagle View middle school in Mechanicsburg. Each team will compete in a two-day round-robin tournament.
The championship game will take place on Sunday, May 26 before the Big 33 Football Classic game takes place. The game and trophy presentation will happen on Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field at 3 p.m.
