BELLMORE, NY — The Bellmore-Merrick Girls Flag Football champions got their rings during a pre-season New York Jets game on Monday night.
Bellmore-Merrick won Long Island’s first flag football title in June, which was played at the Jets headquarters. The Jets sponsored all of the girls’ games this season, News 12 said.
The huge, bling-filled rings were presented to the players at MetLife Stadium. It features jewels in the school’s colors, their names, the trophy and the Jets logo, News 12 said.
Quarterback Sofia LaSpina told News 12 she was excited to see “how heavy the ring is.”
