Louisville’s Madison Gruber shot 6-over 78 to win the girls 16-19 division in Friday’s Northern Ohio Junior PGA event at Tannenhauf.
A 37 on the back nine helped Gruber rally for the win. She finished one stroke ahead of Canfield’s Madison Murphy.
Lochridge Academic All-MAC selection
Former Hoover High School swimmer Annie Lochridge is one of 20 University Akron selections on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team.
Lochridge has a 3.899 grade point average while majoring in dual-reading and language and sociology.
Louisville Area YMCA fall intra sport leagues
The Louisville Area YMCA will hold its fall intra sport league season from Aug. 9 through Oct. 23.
Tee-ball, flag football, coed volleyball and an all-girls flag football league will be offered. Games begin Aug. 26.
Those interested can sign up at the Louisville Area YMCA or register online at www.ymcastark.org. The deadline to register is July 23.
