SEAFORD, Del. – On Saturday and Sunday, a flag football tournament was hosted in hopes of raising money for the local boys and girls club, and the Crohn’s disease foundation.
For the second year in the row, Seaford football star and alumni, Amri Jones, organized a flag football tournament. After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease back in September of 2019, he says he’s made efforts to give back to the community all while battling his disease.
Community members and athletes joined on Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. for the tournament. There was food, drinks, live music, and a bouncy house. The winning team won $2,000 dollars, which was donated to the Seaford boys and girls club, as well as the Crohn’s disease foundation.
Jones tells 47 ABC, he had a dream of making it to the NFL and although that may never happen, he still wants to be influential in the community.
