Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- Lizzy Savetsky, an influencer and anti-Semitism activist, will be featured at the Leadership Tea on Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m. The event is hosted by the Phoenix Women’s Division of American Friends of Magen David Adom, and the location of the event is provided upon registration. Stacie Brockman will conduct an interview with Lizzy on the topics of social media and Israel support, rising anti-Semitism, and everyone’s role in making an impact. - Scottsdale is home to several seafood restaurants on the Top 10 list for best seafood restaurants in Arizona! The list was compiled based on public voting from Ranking Arizona’s 2023 edition, and Salt Cellar Restaurant landed the No. 1 spot! Ocean 44 is listed as No. 2, followed by Eddie V’s Prime Seafood at No. 3. Mastro’s Ocean Club secured No. 6 on the list, and Chart House landed at No. 7. (Arizona Big Media)
- Scottsdale legislators are proposing that Arizona lawmakers should reconvene every 30 days to evaluate and approve the continuation of any emergency declaration made by the governor. The proposal was created in response to the coronavirus-related state of emergency declared by Governor Ducey in 2020, which restrained school operations and businesses for nearly two years. HCR 2039 was approved by the House and now requires full Senate approval to get on the ballot. There are currently 41 active state disaster declarations, but clarification is needed on whether the proposal includes all declarations or only those happening in the current “incident period.” (Free: NewsBreak, Subscription: Daily Independent)
