On Thursday night, Gene Cook demanded that Ed Smyth drop out of the campaign for Huntington town supervisor after the revelation of texts allegedly sent by a town departmental supervisor to employees, insisting that they work on Smyth’s campaign. One of the texts referring to one of Smyth’s campaign managers read, “With the stroke of a pen, Michelle can erase you and she is no joke so keep that in the back of your heads!” (Huntington Now)
  2. Feds: Huntington man sentenced to prison in $1 million fraud scheme. Marcello Sozio, the former operator of Andi Hyperbarics LLC, a hyperbaric oxygen chamber business based in Great Neck, New York, and Chicago, Illinois, has been sentenced to prison for wire fraud in connection with a scheme to defraud banks and a customer of his business.   3. Fourth West Nile Virus case reported in Suffolk County. The person is over 50 years old and is from the Town of Huntington, according to the county. The person’s specific town of address was not released. The person was not hospitalized and has recovered from the disease, and two out of the four cases in Suffolk are now in Huntington.
