- With pricing coming back to school lunches, Hoover City Schools released their new school meal guidelines. Families wanting to receive free and reduced-price meals must apply no later than Aug. 31. Breakfast in elementary schools will cost $1.75 and $2.00 at secondary schools. Lunch will cost $2.50 at elementary schools and $3.00 at secondary schools. - Three open houses are coming up this weekend. If you’re looking for a new home, now is the time to check out these properties. Each open house will be on Sunday, Jul. 31 at 2:00 p.m. One of the homes featured includes four beds and four baths with 2,624 square feet of space. It’s listed for $580,000. - PGA player Tom Pernice’s girlfriend, MaryAnn O’Neill, reported him for domestic abuse through Hoover Police, but justice wasn’t served. A 2018 report taken by a detective with the Hoover Police Department says that she had “visible bruising” on her right arm.
