1. Huntington Housing Coalition leader steps back. Roger Weaving has stepped down as president of the Huntington Township Housing Coalition. He isn’t going too far as he has
   become vice president of the organization, while Hunter Gross has succeeded him. Gross sought a Democratic nomination in 2020 for the Huntington Town Board. Gross said, “I look forward to ensuring the next Huntington Town Board does their duty of alleviating the housing crisis. I plan on engaging with residents to collectively put pressure on the board to take meaningful action, so we can stop losing young people, seniors and working families. The HTHC is a strong supporter of the Matrinecock Court development currently before the Town Board.” (http://www.huntingtonNow.com)
2. Huntington police blotter: man falsified NYS license application. Check out the recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Nov. 28 through Dec. 5. Alex Lopez-Santamaria, 40, of Brentwood, presented an application for a New York state driver’s permit while falsifying information on the license application in Dix Hills on Oct. 22, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree false instrument: intent to defraud on Dec. 1.(Huntington Patch)
3. Steakhouse, Cocktail Bar join dining lineup. The pandemic has had an impact on every industry, particularly the restaurant business. In the past few months, many places have closed, but that also bred new opportunity for new establishments to take their place. Island Empanada and Crave Bakery recently closed their doors, but The Last Word and Foco De Chao have recently opened. The Last Word focuses on Peruvian plates and cocktails and is located on Wall St. Foco De Chao is a beautiful Brazilian Steakhouse located at Walt Whitman Shops. (http://www.huntingtonNow.com)
